Keith and I had the honor of photographing the wedding of a sweet couple from our church in March. Emma and Corey's wedding ceremony took place at Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Lexington. They did a wonderful job decorating the sanctuary in shades of red, creams and tans with a rustic elegant style. Although it was chilly, they allowed us to take them and their awesome wedding party to Shilito Park after the ceremony for their photos. It was a lovely location! They had their reception following the ceremony at Lexington Christian Academy. The delicious cake was made by the groom's mother and the flowers and decorations were made and assembled by several of the brides' friends.
Right before the ceremony, Emma's mother, Davina, read a poem that her grandmother had written about Emma when Davina was pregnant with her. There was not a dry eye in the room!
Emma and Corey surprised their moms with gorgeous corsages which they each gave to their mother-in-laws. It was a sweet moment for each of them and such a loving gesture.
I loved the sweet personal touches that Emma and Corey incorporated into their wedding. Emma wore a heart made from her uncle's shirt on her wedding gown and wrapped one of his ties around her bouquet. Her uncle passed away last year after a battle with brain cancer and she wanted it to be like he was walking her down the aisle.
