Lexington has many stunning venues that fall into a category that we consider “historic” or “estate”. These venues often feature a large home that may or may not still be a residence. Many still have a farm setting, some also have barns and some can be found right in the middle of town. We invite you to view this list that we have compiled and let us know if you’ve had the pleasure of visiting any of these venues.
Kentucky has such a diverse collection of beautiful wedding venues and we were so happy to have the opportunity to check out the Historic Shelby Manor at Arcadia Farms in Stanford, KY, near Danville. This charming historic venue is also a bed and breakfast and sits on a working farm.
Recently we were blessed to have the opportunity to take my (Melissa's) granny to the Kentucky Castle for dinner and a tour. We had so much fun looking around at all the new renovations that the new owners have done. The castle in Versailles has never looked better and they are still working on it!
We are so excited to share with you this sweet local business that will meet all your gift-giving needs, The Crazy Bunny Lady! When you are getting started in your wedding planning, you may overlook one important detail...gifts!
One of the newest local venues, The Mane on Main, is being called, "Lexington's Venue with a View". This name could not be more accurate! We went up to the location of this new event and wedding venue up on the 15th floor of the Chase Bank building on East Main Street. What a magnificent view it was with snow falling outside of the huge windows! We toured the 12,500 square-foot space that houses Dupree Catering, their exclusive caterer, and enjoyed talking with the coordinator, Heather. The beautiful space can accommodate weddings and events for up to 500 people total. The largest room can hold about 200 and would make a lovely ceremony site. The smallest room holds up to 60 but would be perfect for a bridal suite. The 360 degree view of the city from the big windows provides plenty of natural light and we hear that the view is even more breathtaking at night with the miles of lights in site. We can't wait to shoot a wedding here! Contact them today for a tour!
We had the pleasure of going out to Lancaster last week to visit a new Kentucky wedding venue, Starlit Heights. The coordinator, Amber, was so kind to give us a tour of the location and let us know more about what they offer. The venue has an open air pavilion that would be perfect for wedding receptions as well as other events. The setting overlooks miles of gorgeous Kentucky farmland and a cute little pond is one of the focal points. There are several options for your ceremony location and portrait possibilities are endless on the 9+ acres! There are wooded areas that would be so pretty in photos! We can definitely envision beautiful engagement photos being shot here! One of the highlights is Burdette Knob, an amazing overlook that would be a super romantic place for a proposal or an elopement and Amber would be happy to help you set that up!
