This past weekend we had the opportunity to go on a mini vacation in the Great Smoky Mountain area. We stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies which was a ton of fun and I might share photos from other parts of our trip in the next few days. We love Wilderness at the Smokies! We actually stayed at the Stone Hill Lodge which is just across from the main hotel that houses the huge indoor water park. This was our third visit and every time our room has been nice and clean and the water park is always fun.
Soon, I will also share some photos with you guys from Gatlinburg. I don't care how many times we've been to Gatlinburg (it's been a lot!), it doesn't get old. Even if it's just a day, we love strolling downtown and then heading into the actual Great Smoky Mountains National Park to try to see wildlife and enjoy the great outdoors.
Another favorite destination for us in the Pigeon Forge, TN area is Parrot Mountain and that's what I'll share today. It is well worth the money for our family to go and spend a few hours looking at, feeding, and talking to the exotic birds. The landscaping is gorgeous and the employees are always pleasant. We love seeing the macaws, cockatoos, African greys and so many other types of birds.
