Summer is full of beautiful colors and despite the heat we’ve had lately, you just can’t beat the warm glow of August evenings. Hunter and Jack came along with their adorable dog, Gibson, to do their engagement session at the Arboretum.
Ashley and Zack’s original engagement session date ended up being dreary and rainy so we had to reschedule. We hate having to reschedule sessions simply because we know that couples have to make arrangements such as hair and makeup appointments, taking off work and getting someone to help watch their dogs!
This has been one of the most beautiful autumns that Kentucky has seen in awhile! I have been constantly amazed by how bright and colorful the leaves still are into November. I'm so thankful for that since we've had several sweet weddings and engagement sessions in late October and early November. Like this one of Aylua and Taylor! They are getting married next spring in the Richmond/Berea area and having their wedding reception at the beautiful Boone Tavern in Berea. They are a sweet couple that are planning a lovely wedding and are both so involved in the wedding day decisions. We shot on a nice fall morning at sunrise, starting out at the Arboretum and ending up at McConnell Springs in downtown Lexington. Just look at those colors in the trees!!!
Almost all weddings go beautifully but some of them are perfect. Wes & Grace's wedding was one that went perfectly. They are such a sweet couple that are obviously in love with each other, with Jesus, their families and...University of Kentucky athletics! With Grace's father being Tony Neely, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations at UK, and Grace and Wes both loving UK sports, it was inevitable that elements of UK would be sprinkled throughout the day. You'll see a few of them as you browse the blog. The wedding was held at Southside Church of Christ which just completed an impressive facility addition. Grace and Wes did their first look and portraits at The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. Following the ceremony, everyone headed to Asbury Theological Seminary's Sherman Thomas Student Center for the reception. It was a day to remember for Grace and Wes and their families and we are so thankful to have been a part of it!
